Why hypnosis is manifestation and Hypnosis FAQs

Hypnosis has historically had a bad rep in movies and pop culture. As a result we have come to wrongly associate it with malicious mind control. Yet that can not be further from the intention and results of hypnotherapy. Often it is the simplest self help tools that are most powerful and are viewed in a negative due to superstition. Since we tend to fear the unknown, it's time to debunk some hypnosis myths below! Information is power.

For a hypnotherapist to be able to help you, you have to first be induced into a relaxed, trance like state so your subconscious - where trauma is stored and lasting change happens - can be accessed by the therapist. This is called the induction step. This hypnotic state allows your conscious, analytical mind to relax whilst focusing in on your subconscious mind which is now primed to receive a therapeutic effect and rewrite its usual script.  It is similar to how you feel when you are watching a movie, scrolling your socials or zoning out with a glass of wine after a long day at work. Just like during meditation, in this state the brain moves from a Beta state to an Alpha or Theta state to create the subconscious changes you desire in the form of new thoughts and positive beliefs about yourself. This is the pre-requisite state for manifestation.

As you work with a hypnotherapist and learn about yourself, you can master manifestation on your own with self-hypnosis principles and bring to life your dreams at will once you are in alignment with your purpose. Since our minds are really strong and often running from one thing to the next on our to-do list, you can now see that hypnotizing someone is not a magical activity accomplished with a snap of your fingers. We often need 2-3 hypnotherapy sessions in order to achieve the desired outcome and then you have to reinforce the new behaviour by repeating for at least 21 days. That is at least how long it takes for a new habit to form.

So what does hypnotherapy feel like?

You will feel completely relaxed. You are not asleep and you are not out of control. Quite the opposite, in fact, in this deeply relaxed state you will be very focused and we will talk together throughout the session. You will know exactly what you are saying and I will support you throughout the session. Many clients tell me they find the relaxed state their favorite part of the therapy as they find they can talk more freely and let go whilst relaxing with their eyes closed focusing only on themselves. We can do this in person or online, the effects are the same as the most important ingredient is to be in a relaxed state.

What happens after a session?

You can expect to experience a shift in your thinking during your session and over the following weeks you will need to commit to listening to your personalized recording to support lasting change. New habits are formed by repeating a new behavior for at least 21-30 days. You need to listen to your 15 - 20 minute recording daily for at least 21 days, then regularly. There will be a follow up after one week to check in on your progress.
